What do girls wear on their feet?

Today I was thinking of what my daughter wears on her feet and I realized that she spends most of her time in flip flops.  She is a dancer and flip flops are the common shoe of choice.  Last weekend we went to the mall and it seemed like all the young girls were wearing flip flops; all different colors and styles.  Gone are the days of wearing closed shoes.  A taboo shoe when I was growing up, I’ve had to learn to embrace a shoe that gives absolutely no support to the foot.  Since I had to learn to embrace this type of shoe, I’ve spent some time looking for a good quality flip flop.  In my search I came across the Havaianas sandal.  Known as the "best rubber sandal in the world,” the addictive nature of these flip flops is largely due to a 42-year old secret rubber formula, which makes them butter-soft, bouncy, flexible and durable.  There are choices for all personalities.

Shopping Tips

As you hit the shopping centers this holiday season you may find all kinds of clothing items that you may just “fall in love” with.  Eliminate fashion mistakes this season.  Here are a few things to keep in mind.

 

1)  Go with a list.

 

2)  If the item is on sale, ask yourself “Would I buy it if it were full price?”

 

3)  Can this piece transition from day to night?

 

4)  Do you really need it?

 

5)  How much do you want it?

 

Go through this series of questions and without doubt you will make the best purchases for you.  Remember what we discussed in the article Getting Your Closet Ready.  This is why making a list of your five favorite items in your closet and writing down why these are so important is key.  The main benefit is to help you focus when adding pieces to your wardrobe.  Making less fashion mistakes and reducing the number of future giveaways is the goal.  Happy Shopping!!!

This season offers some great choices for women’s footwear fashion!  From pumps in styles made of supple fabrics and rich hues to provocatively strappy heels to part shoe – part boot the choices are endless.

It’s all about the shoes!  Shoe shopping has been a love of mine since I was about 7 years old.  I liked all kinds of shoes…well…I’m not a big fan of the sneaker/tennis shoe.  This season has been incredible inspiring since as I turn the pages of various fashion magazines I have been amazed by the shoe trends & fashion for this season.  Whether you purchase your shoes at Neiman Marcus, Macys, Bergdorf Goodman, Zappos, DSW, or even Payless you will find lots of wonderful options.

Peep Toe Pumps

 

 

The peep toe pumps which became so popular in Spring are hanging around in the Fall.  There are an overabundance of styles, fabrics and colors available in all price ranges. Perfect style for Fall/Winter in places like Florida, given the exposure of the toes, this style is very feminine and sexy!

The Pump is the staple of any girl’s shoe wardrobe.  Pumps may be pointy, square or round toe.  The trend this season is printed footwear.  Keep an eye out for animal prints.  Great finds are snakeskin, zebra or leopard.  One magazine I read focused on suede and patent leather.

This is a trend we are really seeing.  I love it!! It just reminds me of our rich history.  Designers are really given character to this style of shoe.

Sky-high and provocatively strappy with daring cutouts and jeweled heels is what‘s calling attention this fall.  

   Just what you might wear to a New Years party.

 

 

 

 

Ankle Boots

  This season they seem to be more of a cross between a boot and a shoe.  They are widely available!  Watch for those that can be a bit clunky.  Overall most are coming with serious heels!!

 

 

 

 Flat Oxfords

This tailored classic look has been updated in fun colors and unique designs!

  

 

 

 

 

Boots

Simple, streamline or a little done up!  You choose the style to make your outfit.  Choices in black suede, biker, equestrian, knee high or calf high, even the rain boot are available for you to create a style of your own.  Pick up any fall fashion guide and you will find more options than you ever imagined!
