When I was in high school, long ago, I didn’t wear much makeup. My mom was very strict and only allowed me to wear powder and gloss. I remember so many of the girls lined up in front of the mirror with their cosmetics bag in the restroom between classes. Their small colorful cosmetic bags were filled with lip color, eyeshadow, liners and mascara. It all looked so interesting and I wish I had my own little bag of goodies that I could dig into. One of my friends had this tool, an Eyelash Curler, that I remember thinking who in the world would want to stick that thing so close to their eyes? I couldn’t do it back then. I have pretty sensitive eyes and I just couldn’t bring myself to bring this apparatus that close. I had to be creative and figure out a way to make my lashes look longer and thicker.
You can control how you want to build your lashes. Want thicker lashes? Then simply begin at the base of the lashes. Hold your mascara wand in a horizontal position working it side to side while working your way up to the end of the lashes. This technique will make your lashes look thicker.
Applying Your Mascara Correctly
Prefer longer lashers? Just hold your mascara wand in a vertical position. Start at the base of the lash line then pull the wand up and out to the end of your lashes. This will make the lashes appear longer.
FashionStyle Coach’s Tip: Be sure to choose the correct mascara formula for your desired effect. For a natural look select defining mascara. This will keep the lashes separated and defined. For long lashes select lengthening mascara. For thick and full lashes opt for thickening mascara.
